The White House announced that the Korean pop group BTS will be visiting with President Joe Biden this coming week. As Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) month comes to a close, the group will touch on current issues during this meeting. Anti-Asian hate crimes have been on the rise in the United States, especially in the wake of COVID-19, and will likely be the key topic of discussion between the president and the artists.
“Biden and BTS will also discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion and BTS’ platform as youth ambassadors who spread a message of hope and positivity across the world,” the White House stated.
